Rosie's Fall Wardrobe Restyling Session
It’s fall and with the changing of the seasons comes a changing of the wardrobe. Have you started to put away your summer pieces yet? Or thought about what you want to wear for fall?
One of my favorite ways to refresh a wardrobe for fall is not through shopping, but through a Wardrobe Restyling Session. In one or two hours you can have between 5-15 new looks created from pieces you already own. Talk about a great bargain. From there, it’s easy to see what on-point seasonal items you may want to add (think fall hats, blanket scarves, or this year’s trends such as velvet, chokers, or the updated ankle boot).
Rosie (read about her closet clean out here and her spring/summer restyling session here) had actually purchased a few new pieces, so we were able to incorporate those into her fall looks. Our goal was to create lots of casual looks along with a few dressier ones for church, etc. Her overall style is pretty minimal but with lots of edge. She loves to stand out through her clothing choices and veers towards simple and sometimes masculine looks. When Rosie shops, she focuses on well-made, high-quality pieces such as the Barbour sweater in the middle and Paige jeans. She's also a frequent second hand shopper, so usually she's getting these pieces for a steal!
In our two hours, we made 9 new looks and updated quite a few of her spring / summer looks for fall. A lot of these looks just needed the swap out of a long sleeve shirt vs. a tank or short sleeve top. She ordered a Look Book, which is a great way to have a reference of all her new outfits – without having to remember them!
