Intro

Welcome to the From Hobby to Full Time podcast! All of March we’ll be touching on 4 cornerstone mindset beliefs that you need in order to be a successful entrepreneur.

Thus far in this series, we’ve covered the Failure Mindset, the Growth Mindset, the Perseverance + Patient Mindset and last, but certainly not least, we’ve got the Do What it Takes Mindset.

Show notes

Now, I do not mean, undercut, underprice, trash talk your competitors.

What I do mean is that you take your business, very, very seriously.

You may need to cut out Netflix and scrolling on Instagram. You may need to work late nights or early mornings - especially if you have a full time job. You may need to take on part time work to fund your dream.

Some people think of this as the hustling mindset, but I don’t want you to fall into that trap. I believe 100% in 9 hours of sleep, loads of self-care, and taking days off. But I also believe in not watching TV. I believe in sitting down at the computer and forcing yourself to write if that’s what you need to do. I believe in focusing on ONE project, doing it till it’s done, and them moving on to the next.

I believe in doing what it takes and quite often, this wraps up all the other mindsets, Failure, Growth, and Patience + Perseverance, in one, tidy little bow.

This is also a little bit of the woo mindset. You believe SO STRONG in your vision and where you want to go, that you’ll do what it takes. You’ll intern. You’ll assist. You’ll never think you’re too big to help out someone who’s coming up after you.

So - how do you cultivate a killer mindset?

I reached out to my smart friends over on LinkedIn and got some stellar responses I wanted to share with you:

  • Paul Cassimus: “Having a mindset routine - one that aligns and reinforces your core beliefs and grants you time to focus internally (like meditation). I did a Perfect Day exercise which is now part of my mindset routine and has been amazing in how I show up each day”

  • Cassandra Metzger: “I found Tonya Leigh’s Mindset Makeovers helpful.  Makes connection between mindset, goal setting and task slaying in a way that gave me traction I have not had in years.  🙌🏼🙏🏼♥️”

  • Danika Brysha (so, she didn’t answer, but I’ve been through her programs, so I’ll attribute this to her!) - Future biography and journaling exercise. Doing this daily helps you visualize your goals and grounds you on your daily tasks. I find this to be SO important that I include it in the Biz Bootcamp modules that you get when you join The Founders Club.

  • My process - gratitude, meditation, affirmations, 5% activities and a future biography. I LOVE gratitude, meditation and affirmations. But I also love focusing on the top 3 activities in my business that will help me make money. I do these before I do things like Instagram or emails. The woo stuff grounds me so I can take ACTION - and the RIGHT action in my business.

That’s a wrap
